Lethbridge College is collaborating with the Municipal District of Greenview to develop a Virtual Reality (VR) experience that will transport users to the Grande Cache Dinosaur Track site, which is currently inaccessible to the public. This experience will combine stunning 360-degree imagery, spatialized audio and guided narration to create an immersive experience.

Lethbridge College is looking for one (1) XR Developer Intern with a knowledge of programming and 3D modelling to work with faculty on this project.

Responsibilities:

  • Model 3D assets (eg. terrain, foliage, props, etc.)
  • Design textures for use on 3D assets
  • Assemble scene(s) in Unity including asset placement, lighting, sound, etc.
  • Develop a basic interaction system (eg. menus, object interactions, etc.)
  • Conduct quality assurance and user experience (UX) tests

Requirements:

Applicants must have a recent post-secondary credential (or close to completion) in a digital design (VR, multimedia, etc.) or computer science discipline and must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Applicants should also have experience and be comfortable with the following:

Required Experience:

  • Unity
  • C# programming
  • 3D modelling (Blender)
  • VR hardware

Nice to Have Experience:

  • Git
  • Photogrammetry
  • Sound design

Position Details:

This position is a contract position for a minimum of 8 weeks (actual duration depends on number of hours per week) and pays $20 / hour.  This will likely be a remote position and will require the applicant to have their own VR-ready computer and VR headset.
