We are looking for someone who isn’t just good at coding but who also is good at asking questions and defining scope.

Starburst is looking for an intermediate to senior level front-end web developer to join our team. We are looking for someone to be proficient in the usual suspects (HTML, CSS/SASS, Javascript plus PHP and MySQL) and have experience working with designers, account managers, and clients. If you aren’t afraid to ask questions, clarify assignments, and try out new things, then this role is for you.

The majority of your day to day work would be in translating mock-ups from Sketch or Adobe Creative Cloud to fully responsive, functioning websites. We create both WordPress and custom solutions and integrate APIs on a regular basis. We’ve also dabbled in apps and virtual reality and are looking to try more projects in that world. You will also be responsible for working with the development team on problem solving and creating unique solutions based on client needs including estimating time and allocation of resources.

This position features significant potential for career development and growth. Starburst provides team members with competitive compensation, health benefits and opportunities for professional development and networking.

At Starburst, you will work with an enthusiastic team of talented professionals in a highly collaborative environment where every member’s skills are put to use. Our integrated approach and commitment to quality has driven our success and won us a list of clients that includes national brands, local businesses and governments. Starburst has been recognized with awards from Digital Alberta, the Advertising Club of Edmonton, and the Edmonton chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Must haves:

HTML, CSS/SASS, Javascript, PHP and MySQL

Nice to have:

Ruby, Experience with WordPress, Grunt or Gulp, Experience with domains and server maintenance, Experience with version control, an understanding of technical SEO

Please apply with your resume via recruitment@starburstcreative.com by January 6, 2017. Please include links to a minimum of three projects in which you played a major role and are proud of the results.
