FKA is looking for Full-Stack Developer with five to seven years of experience to join our team. This opportunity is a full-time, on-site position either in our Edmonton office or in Calgary. We are looking for someone who is proficient in HTML, CSS, SASS, PHP, Javascript, server administration and MySQL. The ideal candidate will have experience working with designers, project managers and quality assurance. You will also be responsible for working with the development team on problem solving and creating unique solutions based on client needs. These include estimating time and writing clean and quality code.
The majority of your day-to-day work will involve developing fully responsive websites, defining the technical architecture of the back-end, working on configuring and developing web projects, dealing with ad hoc maintenance updates and configuring server management and hosting. While WordPress is our go-to CMS for websites, we believe in choosing the best tool for the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for working with the development team on problem solving and creating unique solutions
- Work with the Development Lead to provide realistic estimates
- Perform system administration duties including server management
- Be able to work efficiently with the creative team
- Create new database-driven websites using web/PHP frameworks
- Build templates in responsive front end frameworks and work with existing templates
- Debug code and quickly troubleshoot problems
- Be comfortable working under tight deadlines and timelines
- Understand the process of executing a vision into web (design, develop, test, deploy)
Mandatory Requirements:
- HTML5
- CSS
- SASS/LESS
- Javascript/jQuery
- PHP 5.4/7
- Solid understanding and experience in writing and debugging MySQL and supporting MySQL databases
- Experience with Apache Configuration
- Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony)
- Experience using PhpMyAdmin
- Experience with bug-tracking software
- Front end frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap)
- Linux administration
- Server management, server hosting and domain management
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Extensive experience with WordPress
- Familiarity with Geolocation techniques
Desirable:
- DevOps experience
- Working knowledge of NodeJS, Grunt or Gulp
- Experience with Angular or React
- Experience with GitHub flow
- Experience with Continuous Integration
- Experience using static site generators (Jekyll, Middleman, etc.)
- Experience with version control systems (GitHub, SourceTree, SmartGit)
- Experience with Google Analytics and SEO best practices
- An understanding of build automation (TeamCity)
- Familiarity with third-party API integration
