Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) Degree at Alberta University of the Arts, the prairies' only art and design dedicated University. Choose courses in Time-Based Art (moving image, sound, performance, and multi-media installation) or Interactivity (sensors and interfaces, fabrication, and programming).
Media Arts explores strategies, devices and technologies that carry meaning, create experiences, and provoke change. We focus on interactivity (the dialogue between art and audience), and on time-based art (both narrative and experimental approaches). Housed within the School of Craft + Emerging Media at Alberta University of the Arts, students have access to curriculum in Animation, Ceramics, Drawing, Fibre, Glass, Jewellery + Metals, Object Design and Fabrication, Painting, Print, and Sculpture as well as a wealth of art and design-specific history, theory, social and natural science courses in the School of Creative and Critical Studies.
