QA Developer

Wmode is a fast paced Calgary-based app management company for connected devices with a passionate and entrepreneurial team. We are making waves in the app economy by delivering custom app and content distribution systems to a number of major organizations.

As a Quality Assurance Developer, you will be responsible for developing, executing test scripts and plans and reporting results for Wmode’s systems.  You will develop Wmode’s automated testing infrastructure and work with others to support QA and testing policies.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in operations of Wmode's systems lab and verification systems
• Automate system testing to be more reliable and repeatable across multiple systems
• Assist in qualification of systems and interfaces for new customers
• Duplicate problems reported in the field
• Assist in deployment of new products and features for the system
• Work with other Software Testers
• Regression test new builds for existing customers
• Wmode provides 24 x 7 operations support; therefore, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours for testing of fixes to the system

Required Qualifications:

• B.Sc or Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering Degree specializing in software
• Java programming skills
• Experience developing test scripts using jMeter
• Have used or developed on UNIX (Solaris) or LINUX
• Worked in a team environment previously
• Worked with Jira or similar defect tracking system
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in the software industry

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with load testing and load testing tools
• Experience with Drupal and Drupal testing tools
• Experience with Magento and Magento testing tools
• PHP experience
• Javascript experience
